Emigrated from the UK to Australia in 1958.

Started racing on a 125cc BSA Bantam.

Progressed to A grade status in 3 short years.

Returned to Europe in 1963 to compete in international events.

Joined the factory Derbi team in 1965.

Won the last 50cc Isle of Man TT in 1968.

Finished in 3rd place in the 1968 and 1969 World Championships.

Returned to Australia to start a family in 1970.

Won the Australian 125cc Championship in 1978 and 1981.

Won the Isle of Man TT in 1968, 1979, 1980 and 1981.

Won the TT Formula 3 World Championship in 1979 and 1981.

In a 25 year career won over 100 races including 10 Grands Prix.
